2026年6月18日、インドネシアのムハマディア・マラン大学より学長のNazaruddin Malik（ナザルディン・マリク）氏をはじめとする代表団5名が本学を公式訪問されました。

本学学長との面談では、本学教員の岡崎教授・岸田教授とムハマディア・マラン大学とで進めている共同研究事業が取り上げられました。その中で、今後は本学学生も参画する形でさらに共同研究・共同事業を推進していくことが確認されました。また、ムハマディア・マラン大学内に開設した下関市立大学の日本学術文化センターにおける日本語教育の進捗について報告があり、14名の学生がセンターで日本語を学び、来年度から本学への留学を希望していることが報告されました。

今後、本学で日本語および専門分野に関する科目を学ぶ学生がさらに増えていくことが両者で確認されました。さらに、両大学間の協力領域をこれまでのアグリビジネス分野から看護・データサイエンス分野にも拡大していくことを確認し、より包括的なパートナーシップの構築に向けて歩みを進めることを確認しました。

On June 18, 2026, a delegation of five representatives from the University of Muhammadiyah Malang (Indonesia), led by President Nazaruddin Malik, paid an official visit to our university. The visit was timed to coincide with our university’s 70th anniversary celebrations.

During the meeting with our university president, Professor Okazaki and Professor Kishida presented an overview of the ongoing joint research projects being conducted with the University of Muhammadiyah Malang. Both sides confirmed their intention to further advance joint research and collaborative initiatives, with our students playing an increasingly active role going forward.

A progress report was also given on Japanese language education at Japan Academic and Cultural Center by Shimonoseki City University, established within the University of Muhammadiyah Malang. It was shared that 14 students are studying Japanese at the Center and eagerly anticipating their studies in Japan from the next academic year. Both parties confirmed that the number of students coming to our university to study Japanese and their respective specialist fields is set to grow further. In addition, both universities pledged to expand the scope of their cooperation beyond agribusiness to include the fields of nursing and data science, taking a significant step toward building a broader and more comprehensive partnership.
